We talked about a lot over the last month.

Letโ€™s recapโ€ฆ

The Main Thing

Previous Posts

We talked about a lot during the month. Itโ€™s hard to believe that March has come and gone. Is it feeling like Spring where you are?

Iโ€™ll Never Own A Rolex Explorer

In hindsight, maybe I will, just not a new one.

We talked about how the Rolex waitlist game is shenanigans. If you want something, you should be able to get it. And this article gives you three Explorer-esque watches that you can get TODAY.

In case you forgot, they are:

  • Sin 556 A

  • Tudor Ranger

  • Nomadic Turas 914

If youโ€™re looking for a sports watch that goes with your outfits, these are all great choices.

Unbreakable Watches

The worst kind of enthusiasts are the kind who donโ€™t wear their watches. Donโ€™t be one of these people. But if you are, wear a tough watch.

We reviewed three watches that are tougher than you. Hereโ€™s what they were:

  • Marathon GSAR

  • Victorinox INOX

  • Casio G-Shock

Iโ€™ve had hands-on experience with the Marathon and even though itโ€™s not for me, you should check it out.

Under $5k Buying Challenge

This is the most fun article Iโ€™ve written so far. I still canโ€™t believe that I could get 6 watches for under $5k. And these arenโ€™t lame watches. Theyโ€™re ones Iโ€™d actually want to own.

Itโ€™s always easy to spend other peopleโ€™s money. Or fake money (in this case).

You need to check out the article to see exactly what I picked.

Which one(s) did you like the most?

Smartwatches Suck

Yeah, I said it. I donโ€™t like them. Smartwatches suuuuuuuck.

We need more analog in our lives. This article discussed several reasons why you should ditch the smartwatch.

Iโ€™m curious. How do you feel about smartwatches?

Whether you agree or disagree, tell me in the comments of this!

Buy My Book

I wrote a book on watches. It covers everything you need to know. Itโ€™s the book I wish I had when I started collecting. Get smarter and help support my newsletter.

Because You Asked

Q&A

Q: What is the one watch in your collection that means the most to you?

A: Right now, easy. My Victorinox Alliance. Itโ€™s a beautiful watch and was what I wore for my wedding. It may sound cheesy, but thatโ€™s still one of the best days of my life and I have a strong connection to that watch because of it.

Q: Whatโ€™s been the most exciting part of your collecting journey so far?

A: After learning all of the watch terminology, exploring the secondary market. Itโ€™s like its own stock market. Prices of certain makes and models rise and fall every day. Itโ€™s cool to see a watch for sale, research the reference number and find the caliber and estimated year the watch was made. Lots of fun.

Q: Take this to Your Grave or From Under the Cork Tree?

A: This is a hard one. Take This to Your Grave is a little edgier and Cork Tree is a little more poppy. Both have great songs. Not including the singles, I can listen to both from front to back. If I had to pick one, Iโ€™m going with Take This To Your Grave. Chicago is So Two Years Ago and Homesick At Space Camp are amazing and underrated.
